CANVASES
CANVAS STRETCHING
Canvases, whether they be original art works or printed, should be stretched around a suitable timber frame which will depend on the overall size and look required.
Once a canvas is stretched it can be placed in a traditional frame or for contemporary and aboriginal type paintings where a minimal frame is desired and protection to the canvas edges are required, the stretched canvas is placed into a float frame.
Canvases can also be left unframed with the canvas wrapped around the stretcher frame and the edges are left exposed and the corners neatly folded.
